DePuy is one of the world's leading designers, manufacturers and distributors of orthopaedic devices and supplies. DePuy's products are used primarily by orthopaedic medical specialists, and in the case of the Company's spinal implants, neurosurgeons in both surgical and non-surgical therapy, to treat patients with musculoskeletal conditions resulting from degenerative diseases, deformities, trauma and sports-related injuries.
Founded in 1895, DePuy is the world's oldest manufacturer of orthopaedic devices. In Warsaw, Indiana, a chemist named Revra DePuy became determined to offer medical practitioners and their patients a better solution to problems arising from bone fractures.

By developing his then revolutionary fibre splints and the shaped wire designs that quickly followed, Revra DePuy became one of the founding fathers of orthopaedics.
The tradition of innovation and teamwork with the medical profession still drives the entire DePuy organisation and this is reflected in our Mission Statement:
To establish DePuy, through innovation, customer focus and profitable growth, as the leading company specialising in the repair of the musculoskeletal system.
In 1998, DePuy was acquired by our parent company - Johnson & Johnson. The organisation is the world's most comprehensive manufacturer of health care products, serving the consumer, professional, pharmaceutical and diagnostic markets. Johnson & Johnson has more than 90,000 employees and over 170 operating companies in 50 countries around the world, selling products in over 175 countries.
